2009 Board of Directors Slate
-The Nominating Committee
met on August 13, 2008.
-The purpose of the meeting was to finalize the I-85 NBOR 2009 Board
of Directors slate.

On October 9 2008 we will have our Annual Meeting to be held at the
Commerce Recreation Department located on Carson Street.
The purpose of this meeting
is to elect the Officers and Directors for the above positions. In
order to submit additional nominations you must follow the
guidelines outlined in our By Laws. There is a link to the By Laws
located in the menu above should you wish to view them in their
entirety. You should reference the section below for instruction.
Section 5. Election of Officers
and Directors.
(a) Notice shall be sent via
newsletter / email for
recommendations to be sent to the Board for nominations of the next
year’s officer and director position. The Nominating Committee shall
be composed of the current President, most immediate Past President,
and four members at large appointed by the current president. The
Past President will serve as Chair Person. The Nominating Committee
shall select one candidate for each office and one candidate for
each place to be filled on the Board of Directors. The report of the
Nominating Committee shall be mailed, or electronically transmitted
to each Member eligible to vote at least three (3) weeks preceding
the election. Additional candidates for the offices to be filled may
be placed in nomination by petition signed by at least 20% of the
REALTOR® Members eligible to vote. The petition shall be filed with
the Association Executive at least two (2) weeks before election.
Additional nominations will be posted to the Board website.

(b) The election of officers and
Directors shall take place at the annual meeting in October.
Election shall be by voice vote or show of hands.
(c) A ballot vote shall apply in
the event of additional nominations by petition and all votes shall
be cast in person. The ballot shall contain the names of all
candidates and the offices for which they are nominated.
(d) The president, with the
approval of the Board of Directors, shall appoint (if needed) an
Election committee of five (5) REALTOR® Members to conduct the
election. In the case of a tie vote, lot shall determine the issue.
